Hard Alternative Rock Band YOUNG OTHER has released the official music video for the title track off of their upcoming, debut EP, Between The Few.
“When we wrote ‘Between The Few,’ the four of us were enduring the hardest chapter of our lives. Being without anyone to turn to, we turned to what our hearts call to. ‘Between The Few’ resembles the fight between things that are good and bad, the light and dark, happiness and depression, it is the title track and centerfold off our upcoming EP. For us, the song highlights how torn we are pursuing a career in music when weʼre consistently being delivered societal expectations from the ones we love by not following the “correct” ways and living the “normal life”. Regardless of what we have been handed, our hearts and passion for music cannot be silenced, it is our voice and who we are.” – YOUNG OTHER
Surrounded by darkness, fabricated by societal expectations and the desire for their dreams leaving them torn between life choices, the members of Young Other have strayed from the path of the “normal life” to follow the light that is fueled by their passion towards the end of a seemingly endless tunnel. This journey is expressed in the bandʼs debut release, “Between The Few”. The EP reflects the concepts of good and bad, light and dark, happiness and depression. The lyrics portray instances derived directly from personal experiences of each member, providing a general concept with diverse emotional standpoints. Explosive drums, fused with groove and melody delivered from the guitar and bass, sit underneath a tasteful, yet dominating vocal, creating a sound which narrates the story behind Young Other.
Young Other was originally formed by members Dale Belliveau Jr. (Vocals) and Brandon Hursey (Guitar). Having written songs and releasing “DIY” demoes, the band tested the waters playing shows around New England. After a short hiatus, Young Other was revitalized with the introduction of members Devin Stetson (Bass/Backup Vocals) and Kyle Shays (Drums). With the lineup fully completed, the band quickly made its way to No Boundaries Studios in late 2018, to begin recording their debut professional release with Chris Piquette. The product of this endeavor would become the EP, “Between The Few”. As they beg%n the spreading word of their upcoming release, the band began to play out in February 2019, with their first show back being sold out alongside Saving Abel and Tantric. This set the pace, as Young Other began to travel and play from as north as the Canadian border to as south as North Carolina, they started to spread awareness for their upcoming release. The EP is set to release on all Streaming and Music Platforms on August 16th, 2019, with the title track dropping July 12th, 2019.
UNVEIL THE STRENGTH—-featuring Mark Wölfe, Andy James, Matt Snell, Matt Guillory, and Tim Hassemer (former members of Five Finger Death Punch, Sacred Mother Tongue, Invidia, Flatline, Devolved, and Stratovarius)–has released the official music video for their single “Hell’s Never Over.” Originally premiered on Heart Support, “Hell’s Never Over” was directed by Matt Zane (Society 1).
“We believe in Heart Support because they are doing something no one else has done. They are bridging the gap for mental health in a relateable way that people and music fans can connect with. On one end you have the music fans that are maybe going through something and feel Isolated , trapped, and lonely. On the other end you have people making music about the very same feelings. The truth is, everyone goes through a dark place, but we have to remember its just temporary, just a moment. Heart Support is never above, never below, and always beside you.” – UNVEIL THE STRENGTH
Unveil the Strength, a quintet composed of former members of iconic bands such as Five Finger Death Punch, Sacred Mother Tongue, Invidia, Flatline, Devolved, and Stratovarius are returning to the soul of hard rock: writing and performing real songs with real meaning. Says Matt Snell, bassist for Unveil the Strength, “We want to put the grown man back in metal – that spirit is being lost in the shuffle. We’re going back to the roots, to real fucking metal.”
Despite the band’s old-school approach to writing, they’re taking a contemporary approach to marketing their music. For their upcoming album, Unveil the Strength will not do a traditional record release. Snell reveals, “The landscape has changed so much regarding how to successfully get music to the public, so we’re going a different route. Right now, we’re halfway through the album and we have video concepts for every song. Instead of releasing all 10 songs at once that will just be put up on the internet to be stolen, our idea is to constantly release new songs all the time. We want to unveil this record to the public, with a video to go along with each song.”
Although the band is officially based out of Austin, TX, Unveil the Strength is truly an international band with members in London, Nevada, California, Colorado, and Texas. All of the band members have professional studios where they can record their own instrument’s tracks, so the group easily collaborates by file sharing.
Their first recording, titled “Foundations,” was recorded in Austin, TX. They wanted an edgier sound than what is currently being produced in the States, so they have been working with Rob Kukla of Studio Fredman and Henrik Uddof Henrick Udd Recording in Gothenburg, Sweden. Udd is known for his impeccable production with acts such as Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, and Delain. The upcoming album slated for a 2019 release, is still in the recording process, but Snell admits, “The production is amazing on the new album. It accentuates that we’re an active rock band – but we’re a little bit heavier, a little bit edgier. It illustrates that we can write, and that we have an ear for metal.” Snell is especially proud of Mark’s lyrics, which he describes as “real.” Snell goes on to praise Mark’s extraordinary writing ability, saying, “Mark has had an amazing life. He is a Marine; a veteran. He’s lived on the streets, ya know? He’s seen and done a lot. He writes from his core being and writes real songs that relate to the band’s message.”
BEAUTY IN THE SUFFERING producer and bassist for legacy fetish/industrial act Lords Of Acid DieTrich Thrall has taken his horror approach in his bands music videos to the next step, co-producing a key scene in the newly released Clown Motel: Spirits Arise.
Released on June 4, 2019 in the United States and set for a drop date of July 29, 2019 in the UK, “Clown Motel: Spirit’s Arise” features Ari Lehman (the original Jason Voorhees from 1980 Friday the 13th), Tony Moran (the original Michael Myers from the 1978 Halloween), Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean), and Chalet Brannan (Cyborg X, Crepitus).
Clown Motel follows a group of ghost hunters, coming from an old ghost town and a bachelorette party, returning home from Las Vegas. When the groups meet up, by mistake, they’re left to discover if the motel is really abandoned and haunted by the souls, of the clowns, that once lived there.
An exclusive performance by Beauty In The Suffering of the song “REVEILLE'”which features producer DieTrich Thrall and drummer Galen Wailing, both of the legacy industrial/fetish act Lords Of Acid, takes place during a key scene.
Writer and director Joseph Kelly weighed in on the collaboration, “DieTrich and his band brought our Las Vegas party scene from Clown Motel to life with a blistering rendition of their song ‘REVEILLE!’ Awesome energy!”
Executive Producer and Film Editor David W Bailey also chimed in, “DieTrich brought fire to the set of Clown Motel with his scorching song ‘Reveille’ that left the cast and crew speechless!”
Executive producer and co-star Don Schell, who plays the part of Chris in the film commented, “Beauty In The Suffering have already amassed a solid fan base with their initial zombie/horror themed music videos produced by mastermind DieTrich Thrall so it only made sense to have him bring his twisted talents to ‘Clown Motel!’”
Guest drummer Galen Wailing: “Having previously worked with Dietrich Thrall in Lords of Acid, I got the pleasure of working with him on his solo project Beauty in the Suffering. Always professional and a great guy to work with!”
DieTrich is currently on tour in Europe with death metallers TAIPAN. Taipan is touring in support of the album Straight From The Underground which features members of Megadeth, Static X, Ministry, and Xandria.

Artist & producer DieTrich (pronounced “Dee – Trick”) Thrall is known for his extensive international touring with industrial legacy band LORDS OF ACID and MISFITS guitar legend DOYLE WOLFGANG VON FRANKENSTEIN’s solo project DOYLE. He was also a primary creative contributor to underground Marazene, who scored a hit – and the approval of rock legends NIKKI SIXX and TOMMY LEE – with their extreme cover of Motley Crüe’s “Live Wire.”
“For their first outing as a new band, Thrall and team decided to adopt a horror motif, beginning with the track ‘The Crazies (The Zombie Song),’ which is no doubt influenced by the horror classics of George A. Romero – not just the film of the same name, but his beloved Dead saga as well.
‘The Crazies’ is the first of three zombie-themed songs to be incorporated into a long-form music video conceived by Thrall (which is currently in production), and you’ll be hearing more about [the] project soon.” – Gregory Burkart (FEARnet.com)
“Beauty In The Suffering is an evolving concept I came up with years ago that best described a sense of optimism during some bright spots of an otherwise massive struggle against overwhelming odds.
Music I have been writing and expressing over the last several years has been uniquely intimate in reflecting those struggles and I am very excited about putting out some fresh ideas that represent the here and now.
Beauty In The Suffering deals with universal themes of love and loss, defeat and resolve, and struggle and triumph.
Everybody has moments where the road looks impossible to pass. But somehow, little by little we manage through our own inner strength and the purposeful placement of fate, chance, and karma. We emerge wiser and with a deeper understanding of ourselves and of our place in the world and – The Beauty We Glean From The Suffering We Have Endured Can NEVER Be Denied..
This is a journey I accepted long ago. I wear the scars of my personal triumph over my struggles with pride and I stand ready to face new challenges.
And, like the phoenix rising from the ashes, this is a new beginning. I thank you all for standing by my side during some very difficult years of active-inactivity. The future is wide open and full of nothing but payoff.” ~DieTrich Thrall 11.18.12

Advance Praise for In The House Of Strange Affairs
“With a sheer multitude of musical styles and socialistic genres seamlessly meshing into a sordid melting pot of creative debauchery, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult retains the flag of anarchy among the masses with a ‘fuck you’ style and a ‘watch this’ smirk. Drenched in kitsch and soaked in gasoline, ‘In The House of Strange Affairs’ will become a looped playlist of hypnotic decadence in whatever listening receptical you choose.” – Jammerzine
“As far as a review goes, there’s not much I can say that could sell this record any more than it will already sell itself, T.K.K fans are practically addicts for this stuff. If the band emerged in 70’s New York in the cinematic world they’re so dearly devoted to they’d be on Travis Bickle’s hit-list for sure and would revel in in the fact of being so too. As uncompromising as they are unsavoury, T.K.K will always thrive in their very own house of strange affairs.” – Happy Metal Geek
“Eclectic, yet sonically appealing,by track two,the record has laid it’s landscape down, and has invited the listener in.With beats from the Land of Rhythm and Blues.raunchy vocals courtesy of lead singer Groovie Mann, and spoken-word overlays, the album is a strange affair all it’s own. Spotlight Tracks include “Gold To Grey”,the album opener,”Strange Affairs”,and the first song released from the album,”Year of the Klown“,which first saw release last year as part of a Sleazebox Records Sampler.” – Rock And Roll Infinity
“Per usual, TKK has outdone itself with originality. This phenomenal album is one that dreams are made of, a little dirty and a lot of good. The groove on this album is reminiscent of the new wave style of the eighties, and lets face it, it’s awesome. The sexual innuendos are noticeable. It is a sexy album, it is a good album, and it will get anyone in the mood for fun.” – Rock Documented
Hailing from Chicago’s renowned Wax Trax! Records stable of recording artists, MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT have been conjuring up sonic tales of sex, blasphemy and kitschy horror since 1987. Along with label mates such as Front 242, KMFDM and Ministry, TKK (as often abbreviated), helped develop the industrial music genre, but they themselves continued to evolve, creating one of the most diverse repertoires in modern day music. Their sound can be described as electronic rock, heavily influenced by both disco and funk. One of their most distinctive characteristics is the use of spoken-word samples lifted from B-movies laced throughout their songs. Since debuting, they have released 13 studio albums, and their music has been featured in a variety of films, television/cable shows and soundtracks, all the while making a reputation for themselves as one of the most notorious and controversial cult bands of their generation.
Artist Franke Nardiello and musician Marston Daley, two Chicago neighbors who enjoyed late night burritos while watching foreign horror movies on VHS rented from the corner store, began conspiring to make a trashy B movie (in the style of Russ Meyer and John Waters) to be called “My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult”. While the film itself never came to fruition, they also wrote some music to be the accompanying soundtrack. Both worked at Wax Trax! Records in Chicago, and when the label heard the tracks, they were intrigued and eager to release it.
The duo took the title of the film as the name for their band, and decided to focus on the musical group full time. Taking the stage names Groovie Mann(Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (Daley), they worked on creating an occult-biker meets disco-rock influence look for the project, which included a bevy of voluptuous back-up singers and dancers known as the BOMB GANG GIRLZ. The New York Times wrote, “Sex, blasphemy, big beats and go-go dancing; they’re all in a day’s work for My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult ”. This attracted the attention of indie fans and the ire of religious groups in practically equal measure. They released their first album I See Good Spirits And I See Bad Spirits in 1988 followed up by the hard-hitting dance floor classics “Kooler Than Jesus” and “A Girl Doesn’t Get Killed By A Make-Believe Lover Cuz It’s Hot,” which featured no-wave chanteuse Lydia Lunch on vocals. By the time they released their second album, Confessions Of A Knife (1990), they were far and away one of the biggest selling acts on the label.
In 1991, the band embarked on the decadent “Sexplosion! Tour”, titled after their third album. Alternative Press reviewed the show as “Sin-sational!”. The tour was a success and the record sold so well that they signed a deal with Interscope Records shortly afterwards, and the single “Sex On Wheelz” became a sizeable radio hit.
Hollywood also embraced the group, recognizing the unique cinematic aspect of their sound. The band’s music has appeared in a slew of films and tv/cable shows including, director Ralph Bakshi’s “Cool World”, Paul Verhoven’ssaucy “Showgirls”, MTV’s “Beavis And Butthead“, and the cult film classic “The Crow”, in which the ensemble make a cameo appearance performing their song “After The Flesh”. More recently the KULT was written into the story line of the 2014 film “Sexy Evil Genius” starring Seth Green.
THRILL KILL KULT continue to release new material via their own SleazeBox Records label (sleazebox.com) and tour extensively with a rotating cast of musicians and dubious characters, however the core of the project has always been Nardiello and Daley, both on record and in the live act. Their performances sizzle with sleaze and infectious grooves, as Melody Maker once described, “A red hot cabaret from Hell”.
They begin their 4th decade this year with the release of a new album, In The House Of Strange Affairs on February 14th, and a North American tour commencing May 5th in Las Vegas. The current line-up is Groovie Mann (vocals), Buzz McCoy (keys), Mimi Star (bass), Justin Thyme (drums), Arena Rock (Bomb Gang Girl).
Minnesota based, cinematic rock band COYOTE KID has released the darkly film noir music video for their new single, “Femme Fatale,” the first single off of their upcoming album, The Skeleton Man. Originally premiered on mxdwn.com, “Femme Fatale” was directed by Christopher Behnen and Dena Winter.
“We’re thrilled to present ‘Femme Fatale. A Tarantino inspired short film shot entirely on real 16mm film, telling the story of a dangerous woman and her vampiric car.” – COYOTE KID
“The clip begins ominously, with headlights illuminating a remote wildland, crickets humming and a appropriately, a coyote cackling in the distance. We’re introduced to the central character of the video, our “Femme Fatale.” She enters the shot walking back to the car that has its headlights on, carrying a gasoline container. We soon find out what the purpose of the canister is — and it’s not because she ran out of gas on a lonely highway and had to walk to the nearest service station to fill up the container.
Then, the music finally enters the mix and it’s heart-pounding rock ‘n roll, with lead singer Austin Durry’s vocals cutting powerfully through the mix. Throughout the song, accompaniment like Baumgartner’s trombone add to the swinging The video focuses on the engine of our anti-hero’s VW bug, which pounds and pulsates as she drives, leaking a mysterious red substance. In the next scene, she picks up a man who appears to be assaulting someone, seemingly easy pickings for the “Femme Fatale.”
But first she makes a kill with the unsuspecting man sleeping in the back of the car. As a jogger runs by she bludgeons him to death with a wrench, with her new friend helping out with the assault. At this point, it becomes clear that the woman is killing to feed her car’s insatiable thirst for blood..” – MATT MATASCI– mxdwn.com
The band has launched a Kickstarter Campaign to help fund The Skeleton Man, a full-length, cinematic alt-rock concept album, telling the post-apocalyptic, western tale of The Coyote Kid.
“This new story album is titled The Skeleton Man. The sound is large and aggressive, but more stylistically diverse then any of our previous releases. We wanted to take the cinematic sound we established in our previous albums and expand it to encompass more musical influences and a larger emotional range. From dynamic drums, growling bass, and shimmering spaghetti-western guitars, to soaring trumpets and bellowing trombones, the stage is set for this supernatural, post-apocalyptic western. This is, by far, the most dynamic work we have ever compiled. Each record will be pressed on beautiful marble vinyl, and will include the full album story and lyrics, a poster insert, and a pair of red and blue lenses that reveal both sides of The Skeleton Man cover art.”

Cinematic is the word most often used to describe Minneapolis based Coyote Kid’s sound. Precise yet primitive jungle drums set the stage for the eclectic and powerful ensemble to sweep you away into their haunting world. Like oil and water, Durry’s true grit voice alongside Cassandra’s crystal clarity form a stirring, yet beautiful contrast. All being thrusted foreword by shimmering spaghetti-western guitars, growling base, and soaring brass. Their lyrics paint a thrilling picture of monsters and ghosts, murderers and thieves, love and guilt, and everything in between. Previously known as Marah in the Mainsail, Coyote Kid has been earning their stripes and touring the US and Canada since 2015, slowly carving their unique place between genres in the music industry.
Chicago based Progressive Thrash Metal Band AFTERMATHhas released the lyric video for “Gaslight,” off of their recently released LP, There is Something Wrong.
To Gaslight someone means to manipulate a person into questioning their own sanity. The song and video are integral parts of the greater message behind this ambitious concept album.
“The song is about waking up and having an open-mind in order to avoid the elite’s attempt to Gaslight you,” says frontman Kyriakos “Charlie” Tsiolis. “It tells the real rulers of the world we are on to their ways and we will destroy them and their symbols.”

Phoenix, AZ based Cinematic Alternative Rock band THE SPIDER HOLE has released the official music video for “The Leviathan Stomp,” the first video off of their hotly anticipated new LP with graphic novel, To the Monsters. Directed by Johnny Wilkerson and front-man Ethan Scott, “The Leviathan Stomp” was exclusively premiered on Dread Central.
“The song ‘The Leviathan Stomp’ is about a wealthy, uptight family who keeps its monstrously deformed son chained up in the basement of their opulent mansion. Naturally, one day the son breaks loose. The “stomp” is him coming up the stairs. We didn’t have access to a mansion or a monster or a rich person, so for the video we just kind of cherry picked the themes of chaos, disease, and duality, and threw it all in a blender. Also, stairs. We found some stairs.” – The Spider Hole

A quartet with frequent guest musicians, The Spider Hole performs songs meant to stir brains and rattle bones. Based in sun-scorched Phoenix, AZ, the band started banging sounds together in the late nineties, and has steadily developed an aural stew that is partly rock, partly cabaret, partly blues, and partly goth. Influences include Tom Waits, Oingo Boingo, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Primus, The Pixies, Frank Zappa, The Doors, and your face when you taste something unexpected. New music is being prepped for a new full-length album called To the Monsters, due near the end of 2019.

Both as a band and as individuals, Awake At Last continue to stand for positivity, spirituality, self-help and making an impact every single day. Returning with their debut full-length release, The Change, they have never sounded more confident, more energized, or been more determined to reach out to those who might be struggling in the world. The Change releases June 21st via Outerloop Records. “We pushed ourselves to our limits as songwriters,” states guitarist Imran Xhelili. “There is more variety on this record and there are songs that lean in a heavier rock/metal direction with other songs being a lot lighter and more dynamic. All of the choruses on this album have huge hooks, and there are more sections that are less guitar heavy and carried by different elements, like pianos and orchestral instruments.
The lyrics are also more direct in how they carry across the messages we have always had at the forefront of our music.” While making waves with their previous output, this combination is the sound of a band who have truly come into their own. From front to back, every song carries a message of hope. Having commenced writing for it even before the release of their Life/Death/Rebirth EP in 2016, the finished result is not something that came easily. “We all had demons we had to battle mentally and physically,” explains vocalist Vincent Torres. “You wouldn’t believe the pressure that comes down on you when you begin the process for a full length record. After we pushed through the turmoil and embraced the wonderful things that came as a reward it became pretty clear that what we had made should be called The Change. I think this is a perfect name, because it represents the spiritual evolution that we all went through.”
Having achieved a lot in 2018, including a stint on the final run of the Warped Tour – commencing the day after they finished tracking The Change – appearing on the iMatter Festival alongside Underoath and August Burns Red and opening for Asking Alexandria in Louisville, Kentucky, the band are striding into the fifth year of their existence on a high. The first taste of the record is single “Dead Generation”, which stands as a wake-up call, urging everyone who hears it to stand up and speak with their own voice, rather than becoming part of said dead generation. This perfectly represents both the band – rounded out by guitarist Eric Blackway, bassist/vocalist Tyler Greene and drummer Jon Finney – and their core message, continuing to place their fans first, and wanting to do all that they can to help improve their quality of life. “I want people to understand the symbiotic relationship between a band and its fanbase and I want them to feel like they’re along for the ride with us,” Torres states. “We are a band that is built on the foundation of endurance and perseverance, and nothing we’ve accomplished has been easily accessed. I want our fans to know that the reason we are able to live this dream is because they continue to support us and allow us to do so, but most of all I want them to understand that whatever it is that nurtures their soul can also be obtainable if they strive for it and believe in themselves.” Xhelili expounds on this, noting “As individuals, it can feel hard at times to find our own identity and our individual greater purpose. It all may feel rather heavy and bog us down constantly. However, we are here to take a stand and try to rise above all of that and be a respite for all of the darkness around us, as a shining light.” The casual listener also might be unaware of the interconnectedness of Awake At Last’s releases, with Torres explaining that there’s a deep-rooted storyline following a character on their journey through multiple lives. The Change in fact serves as a direct sequel to Life/Death/Rebirth. “The being who experienced the afterlife in Life/Death/Rebirth is reborn into a new vessel in The Change, but in order to interrupt the endless cycle of life and death they’ve been going through they attempt to imbue their new vessel with all of their cellular knowledge. They believed that by doing this the vessel in The Change could bring about a great revolution in the world and finally end the process so the soul may finally rest. What happens next is yet to be determined.”
The album was produced by Kile Odell of Failure Anthem and Josh Landryin Greensboro, NC, the energy and the dynamic of the team essential to shaping the record into its finished product. With Xhelili admitting the pressure of making a full-length was nerve-wracking, he also claims that this nervous energy helped them nail it down. “We all were striving and yearning for this to be the biggest and best album it could be and we all walked away very proud and satisfied with the end result.” For Torres, the process was not an easy one, the sessions taking a toll on him, having his lyrics chopped and changed by the production team after extensive demoing not something that immediately sat well with him. “It was hard fought but after all was said and done I’d learned so much about taking many words and turning them into poetry, and I believe the sessions made me a much better musician and songwriter. After some push and pull I think the compromises made created the perfect record and I think you can feel some of that struggle in the music, but also feel how to get through it.”The Change also marks the band’s transition from a fully independent band to one partnered up with Outerloop Records, which is a landmark event in their story. This partnership has allowed the band to make the album they want, and having the backing of a label will allow them to spread their music far further than they could with previous releases. “They believed in the vision we were striving for and we signed with them for this record to see the vision come to life,” explains Torres. “It is a bit of an adaptation process when you go from being completely DIY and independent to having a team behind you, but overall it’s really cool to be able to bounce ideas off of multiple sources and work with some amazing people who want the same thing that we do.”
As they continue to build momentum, the quintet’s ambitions remain true to their original aspirations: wanting to establish an even stronger connection to their fanbase. “I want to create a movement where individuals from all walks of life can come together and support one another as we continue to evolve and make changes in order to pursue fulfilling lives,” states Torres. Given the demons that had to be battled and overcome to reach this point it’s unsurprising how eager they are for people to hear what they have achieved. “This is the moment we’ve spent years working towards and these are by far the strongest Awake At Last songs we have written,” says Xhelili. “I feel proud of every single song that made the record and there is no filler. This is an album the fans can listen front to back and be immersed in the underlying concept and themes that tie it all together.”
