June 27, 2019 – Dependent Records (GER) is very proud to
present the follow-up to FIX8 SED8’s critically-acclaimed 2017 release, FOREN6.
WARNING SIGNS was released on June 14, 2019 on CD, ltd.
edition box and digital formats.
After the success of his 2017 album “Foren6”,
Martin Sane’s Electronic/Industrial project Fïx8:Sëd8 is about to outgrow his
cocoon. It has the potential to become that full-fledged industrial music
project that might spearhead a resurrection of the traditional electronic
industrial sound formerly endorsed by cult acts like Skinny Puppy, Front Line
Assembly or Mentallo & The Fixer in the 90ities. While we are writing this
info, Sane is touring together with labelmates 2nd Face in South America (!),
preparing his European touring activities to go along for what might become one
of the strongest “Old school” electronic-industrial releases in 2019:
The writing is on the wall in more than one way: Martin
Sane’s looks at early indications of a dystopic downturn of our peaceful societies
echoes in our news almost daily. The notion of insecurity and angst starts to
foster and grow in various places among the earth from North America to Europe
to Southeast-Asia. His new album is a soundtrack to a modern dystopic downfall
that we would rather like to ignore than to face.
Musically WARNING SIGNS is so old school, it could almost be
called a “Retro Industrial” album, as it includes all the ingredients
that made industrial breathtaking in the 80ies: Vocal Samples, complex drum
programming, and big strings mixed with structures that remind of old Skinny
Puppy cult songs like “Inquisition” or “Addiction”. Like
their originals, these songs need repeated listens to sink in and unfold their
potential. But what amazes most is the contradiction between the theme of the
album and its sound: How can something sounding so “retro” tackle
problems that are so recent?
Can we afford to ignore these warning signs?
FÏX8:SËD8 is a dark electro/EBM music group based out of
Frankfurt, Germany. Like many notable dark electronic music projects, FÏX8:SËD8
consists of a solo mastermind by the name of Martin Sane.
Heavily influenced by
North American industrial groups such as Velvet Acid Christ and Skinny
Puppy, the “FÏX8:SËD8” sound was characterized by distinctive vocals
and the excessive use of all kind of samples, complemented by rich textures,
complex sequences, edgy rhythms, and charged, heartfelt vocals.
FÏX8:SËD8 self-released the debut CD entitled HUMANOPHOBIA
in 2005. After spending years working with acoustic instruments, Martin Sane
embarked on his first experiments within the realm of electronic music in late
2003. His extensive knowledge of traditional songcraft and instrumentation,
combined with his new-found appreciation for all aspects of electronica helped
bring to fruition “FÏX8:SËD8” – a purely electronic venture that revealed
Sane’s preferences for dark, interlocked soundstructures.
In January 2005 Sane met electro-industrial icon Daniel Myer
of Haujobb, whose talents were enlisted to produce HUMANOPHOBIA, along with
Husseyin Koroglu of Phunkmob and Steve Dragon of In Strict Confidence at the
final stage of production. The result was a record with an amazing degree of
diversity on all levels, yet which still maintained the intriguing sonic
elements that characterized the FÏX8:SËD8 sound.
Influenced and supported by fantastic bands such as BLAME, MC1R, Nordschlacht and Object, Sane starts working on his second album, DORMICUM in early 2008. Produced and mastered by DJ Barmherziger, DORMICUM pushes the characteristic Fïx8-sound to the next level. 3 years after the release of HUMANOPHOBIA, DORMICUM strikes the listener with powerful beatdriven clubtracks such as “The Needle”, “Blood Delta” or “Post Mortem Apocalypse” as well as with dark atmospheric songs such as “Guillotine Gratitude”, “Hiob” and “Methadone”. The limited metal-box edition sells out within a few days and contributions to the infamous Dependent-“Septic”-Samplers follow helping FÏX8:SËD8 to grow an even larger fanbase. In summer, 2017 Sane releases FOREN6, FÏX8:SËD8’s third studio album.
On June 14, 2019, FIX8 SED8 released the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed FOREN6: WARNING SIGNS.
June 25, 2019 – Chicago’s one-woman electro-industrial army, I YA TOYAH is very proud to announce the new video release for “Flashback (Rhys Fulber Remix).”
“FLASHBACK” was remixed by Rhys Fulber (Front Line
Assembly, Delerium) and the music video was filmed by Lumbra Records. Original mix appears on I YA TOYAH’s full-length album CODE BLUE.
“FLASHBACK (Rhys Fulber Remix)” is available
digitally NOW on all major outlets and can be heard on SPOTIFY.
Rhys Fulber called this version of Flashback “a sadness
on the dancefloor.” “I
envisioned Berlin at 4 am,” he said.
With the visual magic created by Lumbra Records, the viewer is
teleported to Chicago reality-city lights, rush of life, and…mental
alienation. The video was filmed in the middle of a cold April night. Various
locations include Michigan Avenue, Bucktown, Lincoln Park and more.
I YA TOYAH landed here to spread the disease of music and
infect the human race. She is a one woman army that blend the chaos and balance
with familiar vibe of industrial electronica sound. Her music is a fusion of
smooth, cutting edge vocals, surreal guitars, hypnotizing beats and multiple
electronic synth elements arising into dark arrangements that, combined with
storytelling lyrics, respond to the paranoia of everyday reality.
Chicago based Progressive Thrash Metal Band AFTERMATHhas released the lyric video for “Gaslight,” off of their recently released LP, There is Something Wrong.
To Gaslight someone means to manipulate a person into questioning their own sanity. The song and video are integral parts of the greater message behind this ambitious concept album.
“The song is about waking up and having an open-mind in order to avoid the elite’s attempt to Gaslight you,” says frontman Kyriakos “Charlie” Tsiolis. “It tells the real rulers of the world we are on to their ways and we will destroy them and their symbols.”
Hard Rock duo THEM FIXES has released their debut EP, Electric Prophetic, with a full streaming of the single, “Kill the Nights.”
“Please take a moment to turn your volume to 11 and spin our debut EP Electric Prophetic! Fuzz, sweat and tears have been poured into our debut offering and we hope you enjoy the thunder as much as we did making it!” – THEM FIXES

Them Fixes is 2 dudes steeped in Nashville dive bars striving to climb new sonic heights by combining minimalist ingenuity, copious amounts of energy, and riff oriented rock.
Lacing Shawn Jones’ Heavy Handed dynamic drumming, Dustin Rye’s Infectious grooves topped with silk and grit vocals they have forged a sound with the purpose to shake foundations and captivate. Formed in 2017, Dustin and Shawn wanted to pursue a project that both challenged their abilities as musicians/songwriters with the intention to bring something new to the Nashville scene. Them Fixes have released a leading single “Fangs” that is available on all popular streaming platforms and a second “Kill the Nights” paving the way for their debut EP Electric Prophetic due to be released June 2019.
Phoenix, AZ based Cinematic Alternative Rock band THE SPIDER HOLE has released the official music video for “The Leviathan Stomp,” the first video off of their hotly anticipated new LP with graphic novel, To the Monsters. Directed by Johnny Wilkerson and front-man Ethan Scott, “The Leviathan Stomp” was exclusively premiered on Dread Central.
“The song ‘The Leviathan Stomp’ is about a wealthy, uptight family who keeps its monstrously deformed son chained up in the basement of their opulent mansion. Naturally, one day the son breaks loose. The “stomp” is him coming up the stairs. We didn’t have access to a mansion or a monster or a rich person, so for the video we just kind of cherry picked the themes of chaos, disease, and duality, and threw it all in a blender. Also, stairs. We found some stairs.” – The Spider Hole

A quartet with frequent guest musicians, The Spider Hole performs songs meant to stir brains and rattle bones. Based in sun-scorched Phoenix, AZ, the band started banging sounds together in the late nineties, and has steadily developed an aural stew that is partly rock, partly cabaret, partly blues, and partly goth. Influences include Tom Waits, Oingo Boingo, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Primus, The Pixies, Frank Zappa, The Doors, and your face when you taste something unexpected. New music is being prepped for a new full-length album called To the Monsters, due near the end of 2019.
Dover, DE based Dark Pop / Hard Rock Band AWAKE AT LAST has released a vivid visualizer for their single, “The Change (Feat. Spencer Charnas).”

Both as a band and as individuals, Awake At Last continue to stand for positivity, spirituality, self-help and making an impact every single day. Returning with their debut full-length release, The Change, they have never sounded more confident, more energized, or been more determined to reach out to those who might be struggling in the world. The Change releases June 21st via Outerloop Records. “We pushed ourselves to our limits as songwriters,” states guitarist Imran Xhelili. “There is more variety on this record and there are songs that lean in a heavier rock/metal direction with other songs being a lot lighter and more dynamic. All of the choruses on this album have huge hooks, and there are more sections that are less guitar heavy and carried by different elements, like pianos and orchestral instruments.
The lyrics are also more direct in how they carry across the messages we have always had at the forefront of our music.” While making waves with their previous output, this combination is the sound of a band who have truly come into their own. From front to back, every song carries a message of hope. Having commenced writing for it even before the release of their Life/Death/Rebirth EP in 2016, the finished result is not something that came easily. “We all had demons we had to battle mentally and physically,” explains vocalist Vincent Torres. “You wouldn’t believe the pressure that comes down on you when you begin the process for a full length record. After we pushed through the turmoil and embraced the wonderful things that came as a reward it became pretty clear that what we had made should be called The Change. I think this is a perfect name, because it represents the spiritual evolution that we all went through.”
Having achieved a lot in 2018, including a stint on the final run of the Warped Tour – commencing the day after they finished tracking The Change – appearing on the iMatter Festival alongside Underoath and August Burns Red and opening for Asking Alexandria in Louisville, Kentucky, the band are striding into the fifth year of their existence on a high. The first taste of the record is single “Dead Generation”, which stands as a wake-up call, urging everyone who hears it to stand up and speak with their own voice, rather than becoming part of said dead generation. This perfectly represents both the band – rounded out by guitarist Eric Blackway, bassist/vocalist Tyler Greene and drummer Jon Finney – and their core message, continuing to place their fans first, and wanting to do all that they can to help improve their quality of life. “I want people to understand the symbiotic relationship between a band and its fanbase and I want them to feel like they’re along for the ride with us,” Torres states. “We are a band that is built on the foundation of endurance and perseverance, and nothing we’ve accomplished has been easily accessed. I want our fans to know that the reason we are able to live this dream is because they continue to support us and allow us to do so, but most of all I want them to understand that whatever it is that nurtures their soul can also be obtainable if they strive for it and believe in themselves.” Xhelili expounds on this, noting “As individuals, it can feel hard at times to find our own identity and our individual greater purpose. It all may feel rather heavy and bog us down constantly. However, we are here to take a stand and try to rise above all of that and be a respite for all of the darkness around us, as a shining light.” The casual listener also might be unaware of the interconnectedness of Awake At Last’s releases, with Torres explaining that there’s a deep-rooted storyline following a character on their journey through multiple lives. The Change in fact serves as a direct sequel to Life/Death/Rebirth. “The being who experienced the afterlife in Life/Death/Rebirth is reborn into a new vessel in The Change, but in order to interrupt the endless cycle of life and death they’ve been going through they attempt to imbue their new vessel with all of their cellular knowledge. They believed that by doing this the vessel in The Change could bring about a great revolution in the world and finally end the process so the soul may finally rest. What happens next is yet to be determined.”
The album was produced by Kile Odell of Failure Anthem and Josh Landryin Greensboro, NC, the energy and the dynamic of the team essential to shaping the record into its finished product. With Xhelili admitting the pressure of making a full-length was nerve-wracking, he also claims that this nervous energy helped them nail it down. “We all were striving and yearning for this to be the biggest and best album it could be and we all walked away very proud and satisfied with the end result.” For Torres, the process was not an easy one, the sessions taking a toll on him, having his lyrics chopped and changed by the production team after extensive demoing not something that immediately sat well with him. “It was hard fought but after all was said and done I’d learned so much about taking many words and turning them into poetry, and I believe the sessions made me a much better musician and songwriter. After some push and pull I think the compromises made created the perfect record and I think you can feel some of that struggle in the music, but also feel how to get through it.”The Change also marks the band’s transition from a fully independent band to one partnered up with Outerloop Records, which is a landmark event in their story. This partnership has allowed the band to make the album they want, and having the backing of a label will allow them to spread their music far further than they could with previous releases. “They believed in the vision we were striving for and we signed with them for this record to see the vision come to life,” explains Torres. “It is a bit of an adaptation process when you go from being completely DIY and independent to having a team behind you, but overall it’s really cool to be able to bounce ideas off of multiple sources and work with some amazing people who want the same thing that we do.”
As they continue to build momentum, the quintet’s ambitions remain true to their original aspirations: wanting to establish an even stronger connection to their fanbase. “I want to create a movement where individuals from all walks of life can come together and support one another as we continue to evolve and make changes in order to pursue fulfilling lives,” states Torres. Given the demons that had to be battled and overcome to reach this point it’s unsurprising how eager they are for people to hear what they have achieved. “This is the moment we’ve spent years working towards and these are by far the strongest Awake At Last songs we have written,” says Xhelili. “I feel proud of every single song that made the record and there is no filler. This is an album the fans can listen front to back and be immersed in the underlying concept and themes that tie it all together.”

Mark Wölfe, Andy James, Matt Snell, Matt Guillory, and Tim Hassemer–former members of Five Finger Death Punch, Sacred Mother Tongue, Invidia, Flatline, Devolved, and Stratovarius–have come together to form the heavy metal band, UNVEIL THE STRENGTH. The band introduces themselves in the following video, featuring their upcoming track, “War Inside Us All.”
Unveil the Strength, a quintet composed of former members of iconic bands such as Five Finger Death Punch, Sacred Mother Tongue, Invidia, Flatline, Devolved, and Stratovarius are returning to the soul of hard rock: writing and performing real songs with real meaning. Says Matt Snell, bassist for Unveil the Strength, “We want to put the grown man back in metal – that spirit is being lost in the shuffle. We’re going back to the roots, to real fucking metal.”
Despite the band’s old-school approach to writing, they’re taking a contemporary approach to marketing their music. For their upcoming album, Unveil the Strength will not do a traditional record release. Snell reveals, “The landscape has changed so much regarding how to successfully get music to the public, so we’re going a different route. Right now, we’re halfway through the album and we have video concepts for every song. Instead of releasing all 10 songs at once that will just be put up on the internet to be stolen, our idea is to constantly release new songs all the time. We want to unveil this record to the public, with a video to go along with each song.”
Although the band is officially based out of Austin, TX, Unveil the Strength is truly an international band with members in London, Nevada, California, Colorado, and Texas. All of the band members have professional studios where they can record their own instrument’s tracks, so the group easily collaborates by file sharing.
Their first recording, titled “Foundations,” was recorded in Austin, TX. They wanted an edgier sound than what is currently being produced in the States, so they have been working with Rob Kukla of Studio Fredman and Henrik Uddof Henrick Udd Recording in Gothenburg, Sweden. Udd is known for his impeccable production with acts such as Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, and Delain. The upcoming album slated for a 2019 release, is still in the recording process, but Snell admits, “The production is amazing on the new album. It accentuates that we’re an active rock band – but we’re a little bit heavier, a little bit edgier. It illustrates that we can write, and that we have an ear for metal.” Snell is especially proud of Mark’s lyrics, which he describes as “real.” Snell goes on to praise Mark’s extraordinary writing ability, saying, “Mark has had an amazing life. He is a Marine; a veteran. He’s lived on the streets, ya know? He’s seen and done a lot. He writes from his core being and writes real songs that relate to the band’s message.”
A band is not created solely from a group of people deciding to get into a room and write music together, it’s not that simple. Once you’ve found that ‘sound’, it becomes impossible to ignore that you’re now bound to these songs you find yourself pouring every last drop of blood, sweat, and tears into. You will, quite literally, fight for them. It is with those individuals that make up a truly unique and inspiring band. Carpathia and its members have a history, and it all started with Bobby Drinkwater. As an East Boston, Massachusetts native, Bobby has been consistently involved in music, and in 2016 started a nameless band with long term goals. Bobby keeps the conversations short, but has so much to say behind his instruments. Bobby plays multiple instruments including guitar, violin, piano, and drums. Bobby first found co-member Jason Barsotti to join his new project. Born and raised in Malden, Massachusetts, Jason first picked up his drum sticks at the age of 10, and his long term practice has lead him to a fast paced, hard hitting sound that resonates. Jason’s humble and pleasant personality quickly takes a backseat when he steps behind his drumkit. Bobby had continued his search in bandmates close to home when joining forces with Andrew Miller, the two had met and worked together in a previous project back in 2014. Andrew is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, but has resided in Lynn, Massachusetts since 2013. Throughout Andrew’s life he has been surrounded by family and friends who have been hitting stages in music and comedy. It is no wonder that Andrew’s charismatic humor filled personality would follow in similar footsteps. Andrew has played guitar long term in a number of bands both in North Carolina, and Massachusetts. He had transitioned to playing bass in 2013 for a previous project and found his own unique sound in the process. These three musicians had wrote and played music together between 2016 and 2017 as an instrumental band while trialing a number of potential vocalists. Finally, in January 2017, Samantha Alice of North Kingstown, Rhode Island joined as the last vital part of this project. Samantha brought her strong vocal skills and even stronger personality to the group. Samantha’s history in singing has taken her from talent competitions to all state choir, and beyond. Samantha was first approached by Bobby after meeting at a local show and sparked an interest in trying out for his new project. It took no time at all for the solidification of this band to come to completion and Carpathia was officially named as such on April 22, of 2017.

Adema is a post-grunge, alternative metal band with heavy electronica influence who began their musical adventure together in 1998 in Bakersfield and as their original lineup of Dave DeRoo, Kris Kohls, Mike Ransom, Tim Fluckey, and Mark Chavez released full-length albums Adema, Unstable, and EP Insomniac’s Dream. During this time they found themselves sharing the stage alongside of some of rock’s biggest acts at the time: Linkin Park, Ozzy Osbourne, Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots, Rob Zombie, System of a Down, and Korn, just to name a few.
After Unstable, the band found itself facing major roadblocks in their future. The most impactful being the departure of two founding members, lead vocalist Mark Chavez and guitarist Mike Ransom. Remaining members Tim, Dave, and Kris showed exceptional resilience through the years, managing to secure a second record deal with Earache Records, continuing to tour, and releasing full-length records Planets and Kill the Headlights, followed by EP Topple the Giants. Refusing to let down the fans after the departure of Chavez, they first played and recorded with vocalist Luke Caraccioliand then Bobby Reeves, with guitarist Tim Fluckey eventually taking up the vocal duties of the band.
After years of perseverance, 2010 brought us their first reunion as the original 5 members. Chavez left the group, and then again in 2017 they got back together until Chavez refused several tour offers, finally making it known to the group he no longer had interest in singing Adema songs, touring, or recording. All hope seemed to be lost. The original singer was no longer an option and only someone AMAZING would be good enough to fill the vacuum left behind. That’s when Kris Kohls called long-time friend of the band, Ryan Shuck (Orgy, Julien-K, Dead By Sunrise), and the beginning of a new era begun. Sharing Adema’s love for electronica-infused rock, this merger is bringing about a new commitment to Adema’s roots. Being able to front both his band, Julien-K, and Adema would not have been possible without the full support of both bands, both of which enjoy history and friendship together that has spanned several years. With a major tour announced for the Fall of 2019, it wouldn’t be too hard to imagine that there will be some amazing new music coming in the near future as well. Stay tuned!
