I had a lot of fun writing and recording Queen Of Sin – our first EP that comes out June 2nd. It has a nice diversity of rock subgenres – you can find some post-hardcore, nu-metal, alternative tunes in it. ‘QoS’ is a sort of defial for those who say rock and sex can’t go together. “Make Rock Sexy Again.” We wanted to get a mix of hard rock tunes and guitar riffs with sensual feminine vocals and dominatrix attitude. – Moscow

Call her Tsaritsa (queen) like the Russian rockers all do, or call her Moscow – her nom de guerre in the international music scene – but you are going to call (attention to) this talented young lady who embodies the rebellious spirit of rock and the consummate class of royalty.

Young, Russian, Free and Beautiful, a 16-year Moscow (then known as Elizaveta Tursunova) struck out on her own to explore the world. Not wanting to be tied down to the wealthy young businessmen who had been trying to impress her, her young Russian schoolmates that adored her, or the rockers on the scene who hung on her every word, she fled to Cambridge, England.

Never satisfied to stay in one place or know only one way of life, Moscow traveled to and lived in London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles, growing even more bold and worldly with every stop.

From the age of 15, Moscow was a part of the Russian music scene. “In Russia, the market is dominated by cheap pop music. It is next to impossible for a rock/metal band to break out. I hung out with some really dedicated and talented people, they taught me not to give up,” Moscow remembers. “They all thought I was older – I think I celebrated my 18th birthday for 5 years straight.” When she was in Cambridge and New York, Moscow was trained in musical theater and became a triple threat – dancing, singing and acting. “Musical theater will always be in my heart. Anytime I visit Broadway or the West End, I must go see a new musical. In London, I became friends with the cast of Rock Of Ages,” she explained. She decided to bring that musical’s premise to life and become the rocker she was destined to be.

Throughout her travels, there was something missing… something she found in Los Angeles. The Sunset Strip music scene spoke to her sense of rock history and her musical style. Having read about all her favorite artists’ lives in Los Angeles (Motley CrueSteven TylerSlash) the Sunset Strip seemed surreal to Moscow. It was there that she put down roots to record her material and the “Queen of Sin” video. Her approach is summed up by her quote “In popular music, I believe it’s time to look back to our roots – the richness of Muddy Waters, the theatricality of Alice Cooper, the romanticized excess of Motley Crue – and combine what we learn from them with a 21st century outlook,” says Moscow.

The team of Shawn McGhee (Hideout Studios – HellyeahFive Finger Death PunchPapa Roach) and Brian Steel Madina (Gemini Syndrome) produced “Queen of Sin.’ “Working with Moscow was straight fire. From the moment she walked in the studio we knew she had something amazing to offer,” says producer, Shawn McGhee. “She has the attitude and the talent to back it up,” adds co-producer, Brian Steel Madina. “It’s refreshing to work with someone who has such a clear vision of her endgame. Moscow is a force to be reckoned with.”

She collaborated with RAGE (Trivium, Hatebreed, Escape The Fate) on the “Queen of Sin” video – making it an epic presentation of her talent, power and beauty. “She fit her name, one would think she’s already toured the world several times and have sold a few million albums… On set she was fearless, her natural charisma just overwhelms you…even my crew, some of whom are just hip hop heads, as well as some of the background talent were all asking for her autograph and wanting pictures by the end of the day,” explains RAGE. “She was transforming herself in that very moment and it was with no effort, because in my opinion not only is MOSCOW ready to sneak attack the world of rock and metal but she is truly and wonderfully…’The Queen of Sin’. “

Just breaking into her 20s and breaking into the music world, she is wise beyond her years. “We all have God and the devil in us. That is where the spark for ‘Queen of Sin’ came from,” she explains. That spark is destined to set the rock world afire in 2017!

American Standards Release Video For “Carpe Diem, Tomorrow”

Phoenix hardcore outfit American Standards, has released their second music video single “Carpe Diem, Tomorrow“, which comes off their upcoming record “Anti-Melody“. In this claustrophobically dark video filmed by Jacob Reynolds (Dead Rabbits, Escape The Fate, The New Low), silhouettes of the band thrash amidst frantic lights, capturing the passion and intensity of the song.

Vocalist Brandon Kellum commented on the video saying, “We all know the person that’s been at their job for 10 years and complains every day about it, someone who’s planed on going back to school or wants to travel but always makes excuses on why they don’t. “Carpe Diem, Tomorrow” is about getting out of your comfort zone. Being open to new experiences and ways of thinking. Moving is living. You’re not getting any younger and there will never be a “right time” so do something that scares the hell out of you every day of your life.”

Anti-Melody” comes out April 28th and is available for preorder on iTunesAmazon and Bandcamp.

Along with the new music video, American Standards has announced “The Anti-Melody Tour” in support of the new album. The 10 day tour begins May 19th in Albuquerque, NM and will end in Reno, NV on May 28th. The band is known for its powerful live performance so make sure to check the dates below for a city near you.

About American Standards:

Formed in 2011, American Standards is a hard-hitting, emotionally and politically charged noise punk band from Phoenix, Arizona. Employing a blistering blend of chaotic hardcore and early era metalcore, the band released its powerhouse debut “Still Life” in 2012 under We Are Triumphant, an imprint of Victory Records.

In a time where many bands were competing to be the heaviest or catchiest, American Standards carved their own path with dynamic songwriting and thought provoking lyrics. This warranted them the opportunity to share the stage with acts such as Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, Zao, Atreyu and The Dillinger Escape Plan. American Standards quickly became known for their intense live show, tongue in cheek demeanor and relentless work ethic- booking hundreds of DIY tour dates, designing all its own merch/album art and producing several independent music videos.

Since Still Life, American Standards has released two EP’s and has announced a full length titled “Anti-Melody” set for release April 28th 2017. The album continues to build upon sociopolitical themes, corporate greed, media satire and materialism but with the loss of the bands original guitarist (Cody Conrad) to suicide and vocalists father to cancer during the writing process, the lyrics also have a much more dark and personal tone.

“In 1998 the iconic Swedish hardcore punk band Refused begged for it, in 2011 we finally began to hear the response. New Noise. American hardcore band American Standards has managed to bring a fresh spin on a genre that has become increasingly riddled with cookie cutter breakdowns and empty messages.” – Top40-Charts.com

Cross The Divide Release Official Music Video For “Sail On The Stars”

11870784_933989106639806_2210307536465062496_nHard/Progressive Rock Trio Cross The Divide have released the Official Video for “Sail On The Stars”, the sophomore single off of their upcoming full length debut album Fearless, due out 10/14/2016. The video was directed by Caleb Chamberlain and Will Hermonat.

“‘Sail on the Stars’ is a song that deals with loss. The message in this song is that when a person is left behind due to death or parting, it is important to be able to let go and find comfort in the right places. In the case of hurt, forgiveness is a vital part of that parting and grieving process. This song deals with all of that in a simple idea, a blessing: ‘sail on the stars.'” – Cross The Divide

One of the fastest growing, and most in-demand original artists in New England is southern New Hampshire-based Cross the Divide. The three-member band combines heavy guitar riffs and melodic vocals to produce a unique blend of progressive and hard rock styles served up onstage with their engaging, high-energy performance. In an increasingly superficial era, Cross the Divide brings not only sweet guitar licks and driving bass lines, but also deep lyrical content driving home themes of hope, strength, and justice. The band has coined their own sub-genre for their sound: Storm Rock, which they define as “intense technical rock with deep lyrical themes”.

Though the band has been in existence since September 2010, Cross the Divide did not truly begin to define itself in the industry until mid-2014 when guitarist, Zac, and bassist, Chase, welcomed their hard hitting drummer Jake French into the project. Since that time, the band has played alongside many major artists including DisturbedGodsmackBreaking BenjaminAlter BridgeSevendustTriviumPop EvilSeetherSkillet10 YearsBuckcherryEscape the FateStarsetIslanderFor Today3 Years HollowScott Stapp, and many more.

Cross the Divide is currently gearing up for the release of their highly-anticipated full-length album Fearless, which will be out on October 14, 2016. The 11-track CD will feature their hit song “The Perfect Storm,” which has seen airplay on terrestrial and internet radio all over the world, as well as upcoming single “Sail on the Stars”. Fearless is the first professionally produced record for the band, and the first recordings with the current lineup.

Backwordz Releases “Statism” Music Video Featuring Craig Mabbitt Of Escape The Fate

Texas based Hip-Hop / Metal band Backwordz have released their “Statism” music video which features a guest perfomance from  Craig Mabbitt of Escape The Fate. The video was directed by Albert Gonzalez and shot in Houston, TX. “Statism” is the second single off of the band’s debut album, Veracity, which will be released this summer.

We spent the first year getting a name for ourselves and doing a ton of background work for this band. Now that all of that is out the way, we aren’t playing around. We gave our audience a jab with ‘Utopias Don’t Exist’ and now we are throwing straight haymakers. As far as lyrical content, Statism IS BackWordz and it sets the tone for what exactly this band stands for. Alex and I are hardcore libertarians and we want to spread the message of liberty within our music, as well as speak on the dangers of The State. It seems that so many people our age have been brainwashed into supporting government expansion; today’s music artists in general tend advocate for big government. We are that dissenting voice and we wanted to make it known with ‘Statism.’ The music video consists of us wearing the colors that represent different types of anarchy. The black and yellow being the most prominent, because we are for the most part anarcho-capitalists.

We want the state to be abolished, and we want you to know why. I think the coolest thing about us, is that Alex and I actually know what we’re are talking when it comes to economics and politics. This makes our lyrics far more in depth and thought provoking. We don’t just talk about it during election time, or highside on the internet to sound as if we are a lot smarter than what we are.. We actually live this. – Eric July (Backwordz)

Very grateful I was asked to contribute to such a great song, Backwordz is a breath of fresh air to me, hope everyone enjoys the track as much as I do and LISTENS cause Eric has got some shit to say!!! – Craig Mabbitt (Escape The Fate)
