Hardcore, groove metal band WYN (What You Need) has released a video for their live performance of Black Sabbath’s “Children of the Grave.”
“Black Sabbath remains a big influence on the band. We use Children of The Grave as a warm-up, but the message of advocacy and empowerment in the face of adversity is never lost on us–no matter how many times we play it.” – WYN
We are What You Need, a groove metal band based in Manhattan. On our way to becoming your favorite guilty pleasure.
Rock / Pop artist SIMA has released the official music video for her single, “Head Over Heels.”
“Head Over Heels” is about being in Love. About finding that special someone that you can’t get out of your mind, someone that you can trust to be by your side no matter what. It talks about how sometimes in life we give up on love, because we get hurt so many times, that we become numb to it and forget how it feels to be in that vibration, to be in love head over heels with someone, until you finally meet that special person that changes all that and brings you back to life. Although ‘Head Over Heels’ talks about love and finding that special someone, it’s not your typical love song. It has an intense bad ass rock sound. It’s intimate and at the same time, has in your face attitude of a women that is not afraid to express her feelings and deep desires.” – SIMA
Sima’s currently working on a new project called “Broken Wings”. ‘Broken Wings’ is an inspirational documentary/musical project bridging Israeli-Palestinian differences through the healing powers of music.
“The idea for the film started when I wrote the song ‘Broken Wings’. A song that express my feelings about the situation in Israel, wars, hate, fear and separation and my desire to find solutions, love and compassion. I wanted to inspire a brighter future for both Israeli and Palestinian people to break down the walls of hate through the universal language of music that connects hearts and opens dialogue. The musical narrative within Broken Wings reminds us of both, the atrocities and horrors of war, and also of how similar we all are at our cores. It teaches us to never lose faith in the universal healing power of the human heart.”
Sima feels that her extraordinary journey is just the beginning; however she feels privileged to be traveling along such a rewarding path. She looks forward to continue learning, growing, and sharing her story, truth, pain, struggles and blessings with the rest of the world.
With a powerful message of hope, singer/songwriter Sima made her musical debut with the album “This Is My Truth.” Sima takes on society’s limited perception with her song: BREAKING DOWN THE WALLS.
“We are all huge fans of Paramore and for the 13th anniversary of ‘All We Know Is Falling’ we wanted to make a special video that fans of the band can watch and remember all of the great moments throughout Paramore’s career up to this point.” – Minority 905
While best known for their popular discography medleys–which include GREEN DAY, ALL TIME LOW, and BLINK 182–the foursome has also released their video for the single “Dangerous Ambitions,” the title track off of their upcoming, August 24th scheduled album.
Minority 905 is a pop-punk band founded by then-17-year-old John Aquinoand former members of the band in August 2013. The name was inspired by Green Day’s song “Minority” and Aquino’s hometown of Mississauga, ON, Canada (its area code is 905). Aquino identified with the word “Minority” since he believed that the combination of his ethnicity, personality, and interests were rare in the punk rock scene.
Aquino met former member Aidan Collins on YouTube, after Collins saw a few of Aquino’s covers and contacted him. However, he did not join the band until early 2014 when the band needed a bassist. Collins joined and became the new bassist.
Throughout the next few months, Minority 905 played as much as they could, wherever possible–birthday parties, house parties, local bars, and local venues. Eventually, they were noticed by local producer, Mason Dayot at a show they played in Brampton–which was also the last show the former drummer played. Without an official drummer, Minority 905 went on to record their debut EP titled Luck Is For Losers with Dayot, who played the drums for the record.
Soon after the record released, current drummer Spasimir Vasilev joined Minority 905. Vasilev met the members at a previous show where he volunteered to sing “Blitzkrieg Bop” (The Ramones) with Minority 905. Once again, the band played many local shows and even opened for the bands Such Gold and Transit. In December 2014, they went on a weekend mini-tour with local bands Setback and Triumph Over Adversity.
In 2015, the lead guitarist left the band and Collins opted to start playing lead guitar instead of the bass. Current bassist Steven Wolwyn joined soon afterwards. The band closely worked with Dayot throughout the songwriting process during the early months of 2015 in preparation for the next record, which would be their first full-length album.
In July 2015, Collins left the band due to his family moving out of the city, and Dayot then decided he was going to take over guitar duties; as well as continue to be the main man to produce Minority 905’s album Broken, Not Beaten”
In March 2016, Mason left the band to pursue teaching English in Japan, and current guitarist, Chris Goodfellow joined the band in July 2016.

Blacklite District follows no rules. With sounds of everything from electronic, EDM and hip hop, to hard rock and alternative, the band truly stands out from the pack of what has becomes today’s generic sounding “Active Rock”. Formed in 2012 by Kyle Pfeiffer and Roman James, ages 12 and 11 respectively, the band grew organically in their local music scene through the years to come. In 2011, BLD was discovered by Grammy Award-winning producer, Stephen Short (Paul McCartney, Queen), which resulted in a 10 day recording session at the world’s largest residential recording studio, Sonic Ranch, just outside of Mexico in Tonillo, TX. The group re-located to Los Angeles and played some of the most famous venues in the world for the remainder of 2011.
In 2013, the group released “With Me Now” as the lead from it’s debut album Worldwide Controversy. “With Me Now” immediately went to #1 on SiriusXM channels Octane and Faction, hit the Top 40 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart (#32), and sold 100,000 copies. BLD went on a very successful US tour with Saving Abel in Jan-Apr 2014, with 26 of those shows SOLD OUT. After a legal battle with their management and record label, Blacklite District went on hiatus in late 2014.
On August 23, “The Struggle” was release to radio and To Whom It May Concern went for pre-order at digital retailers. Revolver Magazine premiered the music video for “The Struggle” on August 25. The band also announced a 41 date tour called “The Struggle Is Real Tour”. Blacklite District released a Nightcore remix of “The Struggle” to YouTube on September 6, which got over 2,000,000 plays and resulted in the single breaking the Top 40 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Indicator chart at #36.
One month later, on October 6, the group released a Nightcore remix of “We Are The Danger” which got over 400,000 plays on YouTube. A couple of weeks later, the band released “Broken Souls” to radio, as well as a Nightcore remix which resulted in 500,000 plays and hitting #30 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Indicator. This was the second song in the month of October to break the Top 40 (along with “The Struggle.”)
“The Ghost of You and Me” was released as a music video and a Nightcore remix on December 28, 2016. The song was yet again a success for Blacklite District resulting in 400,000.
On January 20, 2017, BLD released “Living In A Nightmare” as the first single from upcoming album Instant Gratification. With a coinciding Nightcore release, “Living In A Nightmare” broke the Top 25 on the BDS Indicator chart, marking the bands highest spot in chart history. The song has been streamed over 250,000 times.
On February 24, famed radio DJ Lou Brutus posted the bands video for “Cold As Ice”, which was released the same day. The song scored a whopping 350,000 streams in its first week alone, and as of May 2017, has over 3.5 million combined views on YouTube. “Cold As Ice” serves as the second single from Instant Gratification. In the summer of 2017, “Cold As Ice” was added to Spotify’s “Rock Hard” playlist, and was put into rotation on SiriusXM’s alternative channel Faction. In October, “Cold As Ice” was added to rotation on SiriusXM Octane, and it’s Minecraft music video has over 10 million views on YouTube. There are about 4 videos about a Herobrine invasion with zombies and “nether watchers” and how the main character, a player in a blue suit, survives. There are 4 songs in total in the order of The Struggle, Cold as Ice, We are the Danger (possibly not from Blacklite District), and Just so you Know.
Blacklite District released their third album Instant Gratification on September 22, going Top 10 on Amazon’s Top Electronic Albums chart.
Newly formed rock band Stereo Satellite, featuring Lukas Rossi (Rock Star Supernova), Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob), John Moyer (Disturbed), and Jordan Cannata (Adrenaline Mob), has released the Official Music Video for their debut single, “Glass Houses.” Originally premiered on Loudwire, “Glass Houses” is the first single off of their new album tentatively set for April 2018 release. Fans can access exclusive content for the album release via the bands’ PledgeMusic campaign.
Stereo Satellite plays hard rock music that flirts with alternative rock influences. By melding hook-filled melodies within heavy guitar riffs and hard beats, the band shows their ability to compact a vast array of influence and experience into a signature sound with substance, style, and spirit. Mike Orlando and Lukas Rossi are the key architects behind the band’s vibrant, modern rock-inspired sound – powered by seamless songwriting adeptness that combines a story of both the joys and heartaches of life.
Mike Orlando is no stranger to heartaches, having recently been involved in a tragic accident on July 14, 2017 while on tour in Florida with his former band Adrenaline Mob. The crash occurred when a tractor-trailer veered off Interstate 75 and struck the band’s RV, van, and trailer, which resulted in the death of Adrenaline Mob bassist David Zablidowsky, tour manager Jane Train, and seriously injuring six others.
“Over the past recent months, I have learned a lot about how cathartic music can be, especially after going through such a heinous life-changing tragedy”, said Orlando. “It’s been a complete uphill battle in even trying to begin to heal physically and mentally. I have a long road ahead for sure and will have to undergo many more procedures and ongoing therapy.” Orlando adds, “I don’t think I’ll ever fully heal mentally but I’ve been moved to write songs again with my brother Lukas who I feel is an amazing songwriting partner, and start this new band along with my brothers John Moyer and Jordan Cannata. I find it really helps me to cope and I can’t wait to share all the music we’ve written and start touring again full-time.”
John Moyer admits to having mixed feelings about the band being dubbed a supergroup. “We hate the supergroup thing because it’s a new band in its own right,” Moyer says. “But I think it’s important for us to say we’ve been around the rock music scene for a long time and in various ways. Stereo Satellite is a new beginning for us all, and I’m looking forward to sharing our new music with the fans very soon.”
Lukas Rossi concurs, saying, “I can’t wait to release our new songs and perform them live with these awesome guys. Regarding the supergroup thing, look I don’t care what you call us, just call us!”

Ft. Lauderdale, FL based metal band Ornimental has released the Lyric Video for their single, “Love Thy Enemy.” Originally premiered on Tattoo.com, “Love Thy Enemy” is available to stream and download online.
“Love Thy Enemy is about somebody that betrayed someone so bad that they could start dedicating their life to start a war with them. It could start as revenge with that prideful, arrogant person, but decided that the righteous path of love is better for both sides. ” – Ornimental

Ornimental is a band with a mission, a mission to put the groove punch, originality, and excitement back into metal, where it belongs. The name itself, Ornimental, comes from the Latin prefix Orni (to celebrate or decorate) and the root word mental (of intelligence or insanity), and true to form, Ornimental delivers an intelligent, possessed sound that celebrates the origins and foundations of hard rock and metal alike.
Harkening back to heavy metal legends like Megadeth, Van Halen, Metallica, Arch Enemy, and Pantera, famously led by deceased guitar legend Dimebag Darrell, Ornimental doesn’t rest on writing and simply producing crunchy, appetizing, complex guitar licks. Oh, they produce hair raising Hard Rock at its most fundamental level, rest assured, but the song writing and arrangement has a classical, even groove edge Blues, reminding the listener of a perfect marriage of Eddie Van Halen, Zeppelin, and Beethoven.
As if that marriage weren’t appealing enough, a deeper blues undercurrent exists in the band’s original music, paying homage to Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, the skilled David Gilmore of Pink Floyd, and many other legends, yet Ornimental’s music has a modern influence which is subtly inherited from avant garde bands like Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, and Trivium.
Ornimental was founded by lead guitarist Danny Perry and drummer Julio. Danny has been writing unique, intoxicating original music for over half a decade. Danny Perry’s admiration for Beethoven lead him to be the Lead Guitarist for the Miami Dade Film Gaming Orchestra which won an Emmy in 2016. By absorbing the classical structures of the masters together with his passionate influences such as Eddie Van Halen, Dave Mustaine, Kirk Hammet, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dimebag Darrell, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton. Danny’s powerful voice is only trumped by his dedication to performance and skilled guitar playing. Danny has been offered music scholarships by renowned music schools.
As a graduate of the world renown SAE Institute in Audio Engineering Danny’s focus on detail to music brings you closer to the songs. He was born an engaging front-man, though, and has found a niche harmonizing with talented rhythm guitarist and back-up vocals from Ariel. Julio’s skill as a percussionist empowers the emotion you feel every minute. Topping it off is bassist Sully who brings a skill that resonates in his playing. Together they have successfully brought the band to life in the past few years.
Since rounding out the band, Ornimental’s popularity has skyrocketed, as the band has performed in the more chic, popular venues, and even being called on to play at the world famous Revolution Live. Most recently performed on the same bill as Children of Bodom, Death Angel, TYR, Non Point, Havok, Lacuna Coil, Eye Empire, Sid Wilson from Slipnot with Keen & Sid, Overkill, Scott Soto, and more. They’ve had interviews with Horn’s Up Rock, New Times Magazine, and even been featured on Blabbermouth Magazine. They had airplay on national radio and now a larger audience is demanding their music be played on radio. Ornimental’s goal is to take over the metal universe, playing in large venues, opening for the big boys like Metallica and Van Halen, and more of their many influences.
St. Louis NuMetal band Discrepancies has released the Official Music Video for their single “Rock the Show,” off of their 2016 released The Awakening. Originally premiered on Huffington Post, “Rock the Show” is a high energy, light hearted departure from the albums more serious tone, and one likely to be a party favorite!
“What makes “Rock the Show” even better is that the track is truly and honestly enjoyable…In the current political and social climate, a return to music as pleasure and unifying power is definitely a welcome change; from hipster suburbanites to urban rap and Midwest hard core fans, “Rock the Show” is definitely a song meant to be enjoyed, but is all the more enjoyable for intentionally bringing together fans.” – Huffington Post
“Our feelings about our album, The Awakening, is that it tackles everything from depression to social-political issues while also shining a light on the darker side of relationships such as heartbreak and betrayal. But with ‘Rock The Show,’ we wanted to give our audience a chance to step back from their problems by reminding them to enjoy life, if only for these four minutes. “Rock The Show” is a combination of rock and hip hop with vocals that offer a new twist on the iconic Beastie Boys / House of Pain style of delivery. We just wanted to make it fun.” – Discrepancies
Comprised of Garrett Weakley (Bass), Addison Bracher (Guitar/vocals), Steve Declue (Drums), and Antonio Metcalf (Vocals) have formed an undeniably powerful sound. The 4 blend together many genres to create an innovative soundscape that is guaranteed to grab your interest.
